"Balcony overlooking sea. rooftop deck and pool. You cannot drive near this area although they did have someone to pick us up with luggage but we had a rental car and secured parking which was a 15 minute walk away from B&B. The B&B did help getting that for us. The beach here is very small but for exploring other areas the location was central. Beautiful"

Couple things that I don't like: They ask for €20 per day to park, when we ask about free parking they act as if they don't know about any, but locals tell us the road directly next to the hotel is free parking. I refuse to believe the hotel don't know that and feels like they play dumb in order to get you to pay their €20 per day fee. Parked on the road for 4 nights, didn't get any tickets. "A bit difficult to find in the old city with a car. They also did not tell us that door would be locked and buzzer was not obvious. Otherwise room was wonderful in townhouse. Breakfast was terrific and Monopoli was the finest town yet on this Puglian adventure. We wished we had stayed another night. They also took care of our car and brought luggage and us to our room! Not that way for use in Matera where cost of room exceeded DFb"

"Monopoly is a city set inside an old Fortress beside the sea . There are still the old cannons set on the ramparts. La Porta Vecchia is a lovely old building which as been done up to an excellent standard. The breakfast was very good and loads to pick from. On a night you could have a great fish dish or pitsa at the local taverna's."
