"We booked this hotel for it supposed good restaurant only to be told it was shut as chef was away,so we eat in a pizza takeaway. The bar is a tiny room in the basement with three chairs,it was suggested that we have a drink outside which was even less appealing with two chairs a dead tree and dog muck. "this was a brief snow holiday to the Sierre Chevallier area. The Auberge de Violaine is a 5 minute walk from the Monnetier lift base. Its a quiet well presented small hotel / large guesthouse. Food was great, just what you need after a day on the hill rooms were tidy and clean beds were wonderful"

La grande pièce de vie est très agréable que ce soit pour manger que pour se poser au coin du feu. Le propriétaire est très agréable aussi, disponible et arrangeant. "This was the perfect place for us (two families) to stay for a week of skiing. Very spacious with a great open living space and cosy log burning stove. The hosts were very courteous and welcoming and even helped us get our cars out after a week of heavy snow. Great property and highly recommended."
