It seems they have upgraded some parts of the apartment but others are old i.e. the kitchen doors look new, but the carcasses are very old. The lounge felt like it was missing a tv. "Alberico's house is simply enchanting and so is the hamlet of Ponzanello. You really feel like you're stepping back in time (except you have access to all the modern amenities which is great)! "Roberto & Mariana we're excellent hosts. While the journey -to our arrival was quite difficult, we were happy to arrive to our cosy accommodation in the hills with verzanno ligure across the hillside- some amenities could be included is self catering was desired. Roberto was super helpful w/ travel advice- thoroughly enjoyed our stay"

"We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Collemandina. The property was in excellent condition and Leonardo was very helpful with the check in process and also when we didn't have any hot water. The location is very picturesque and quiet. The only downside is that it is a little isolated. There is a restaurant near the property but it is probably a 20 minute walk up steep roads. We were very reliant on using the car to get everywhere when ideally there would be some amenities a little bit closer."

"Accurate listing. Ever-changing panorama of the Apuan Alps. Continuous cool air flow down from the mountain. Lovely view of the castle. Comfortable bed and spacious bedroom. "Our group vacation was to reconnect five lifelong girlfriends. We brought our friends and families together too and the trip was magical. The villa is even more gorgeous in person. The landscaping, replete with natural beauty, is comfortable and inviting- flowers, herb and vegetable gardens, grape vines, and ponds with fish and frogs. Great family room - biggest bed we've ever seen!

"Beautiful location, in a lovely village. The rooms are in an old but very well restored building, and the rooms were very well appointed. Great, very comfortable beds, good size wardrobes and even an exercise bike in the entrance! Only minor comments are that the shower cubicle wasn't the biggest and the breakfast had a limited (but good) selection"

"Very traditional Tuscan property, lovely neighbourhood, next door neighbour nice,friendly and helpful coffee shop. Home restaurant lovely and a great experience, roads are a bit windy and narrow in places, car is essential to visit Places. Church bells take a bit of getting used to."

A true gem off the beaten path

"I actually booked this hotel by mistake thinking it was closer to La Spezia. What a great mistake! We immediately fell in love with it and actually changed the next part of our trip in order to spend another night here. It is definitely off the beaten path, but that is what we liked about it. It’s in a charming little village and the building and rooms were great. They were so accommodating. I would ABSOLUTELY stay here again. Thank you to the woman who worked reception when we arrived and for the very nice gentleman who worked the overnight shift, you all were great!"
