"Nice looking place with updated modern kitchen, flooring and baths. Very nice decorations and a comfortable bed. Host communicated very quickly and they have extremely helpful guides. The home is remote, in the middle of a large acreage property. You are very far from noise and disruption. I could not give 5 stars because I had to live with mice. There were signs of mice when I arrived and mice hiding in the furniture which would scurry out of the corner chairs in the morning, which freaked me...

"We booked this home as it is posted as being in very close proximity to the Great Sand Dunes. While the VRBO posting indicates the home is 4 minutes from the park, it is actually over an hour drive. We did have a fantastic time. The property was beautiful and clean with the exception of fruit and house flies in the main living area. I would recommend it as a great get away relatively close to the national park but be sure to plan accordingly."

"The Birdhouse was a great place to getaway in the quirky town of Crestone. Place was clean and we were glad to have a place to cook a meal with Crestone being closed everywhere on a Sunday. We would definitely stay again "

"The best thing about this property is the upstairs porch. Wonderful views of the sunset and so many stars at night! The owner of this property pays a lot of attention to detail. Coffee and filters are provided as well as tea and a little dish of mints when you arrive. There was also a separate electric kettle, which was a nice touch. The place smells brand new and they were individual bottles of shampoo, soap, conditioner, etc. if you’re going to Crestone, stay here if you can!"

"What a stunning house and a fantastic location. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the house. Walking in to the incredibly high ceilings made it seem like a lodge from the movies! The house was warm (even when it was snowing), comfortable, and full of everything you need to relax. We really appreciated the snacks provided too, and having laundry was very helpful. "We stayed 2 nights to go to The Great Sand Dunes and hike around the area. It’s about an hour drive to the main entrance of Great Sand Dunes. The home was very clean! We were very pleased with the inside, the kitchen was big and shad everything we needed and it had a nice grill as well! The only negative thing we have to say is that the mosquitos in the area are very bad this time of year! They swarmed us right when we got out of the car but the locals said they were even worse the week before...
