"The hotel was a perfect choice for my solo trip. I had a junior suite on the top floor, nice sized balcony to enjoy my morning coffee with a view of the mountains. It wasn't a large room but it was perfect for me. I was refilled with coffee pods every day and the room was always cleaned to a high standard. "We had an excellent stay at Porto Vecchio. The hotel itself is situated right in the old town about 2 streets back from the sea, in a pretty little corner on a lovely back street. As the old town is pedestrianised, we were dropped at the top of the main street by our taxi from the airport, 25 mins away, and had a short 5 min walk to the property. The reception is not manned at all times but someone was always at the end of the phone should you need any help and I believe, not far away either....

"I ended up staying at Casa Modiano for over a week and was able to stay in several rooms. Room 5 with a couch was my favorite because it was a bit more spacious but all three rooms I had were lovely. Great decor, incredible location, delicious breakfast. Loved sitting on the balcony sipping wine, feeling the breeze off the ocean and writing. Near everything but one street removed from the waterfront noise. Much more charming. "

"Very quaint hotel, 15 century villa. Only 5 rooms in it. Clean, friendly staff. Great European breakfast with hardboiled eggs, baking, Greek yogurt with lots of toppings, fresh fruit salad, fresh squeezed orange juice and French pressed coffee. Very convenient area in the Old Town Chania area in the old Venetian port. Lots of restaurants. Most shopping was closed as not their busy time, 3rd week of March.
