"This is a charming ryokan-style property, pretty much 'self-serve' with minimal staffing which was perfectly fine for us but may not appeal to others. It is being gradually renovated - there is no elevator and the two onsens (public bath) are dated (but very clean and relaxing). Walking distance from most attractions in Shimoda town and about a 5 minute taxi from the train station."
