"We stayed a month at Casa Gianni. A spacious, clean property in a small 'village' on the outskirts of Lecce. We only went sightseeing a few days, so used Radio taxis (25-30 euros each way to Lecce) rather than hiring a car. Bus service almost non-existent. Driving into Lecce is not for fainthearted as streets are full of pedestrians. Supermarket (open 8-2 and 5-8) closed Sundays, plus a bar, pharmacy, florists and butchers nearby. The only eaterie, the Pizzeria seemed to open at random hours...
