"Excellent hotel, and next to the train station."

"This is an old style hotel with huge public spaces and big staircases but the rooms are very comfortably equipped. Comfortable bed, tea and coffee maker, TV with a big bathroom with bath and shower. Although it's in the centre of town next to the bars and nightlife, I had a comfortable quiet night because the building is stone and well insulated. It's 100m from the railway station at the top of the strip which has bars and restaurants - it has it's own bar and restaurant as well. It was also a great price and one of the cheapest in Carlisle. A really good price for a really good hotel."

"From arrival to check out we were very happy, staff are all friendly and helpful and the room had everything we needed. Buffet breakfast was lovely. Absolutely no complaints. Will definitely be back."

"I have stayed at this property many times before and it does not disappoint. I love attic rooms and the nice owner upgraded me to Room 6 on the top floor . If you need snacks there is an Asda across the road and next door a pub that does meals and craft beers . Excellent vegetarian breakfast which helps with a medical condition I have which was tasty. Good price and what’s not to like "

"The renovated downstairs is lovely the rooms are a little dated but clean, compact and comfortable, showers/bathrooms could do with a bit of a refresh, breakfast was amazing as were all staff we encountered "

"We love this hotel, the decor is brilliant and very fitting for the Lake District. Pool and gym are great. But you have to pay £15 if you don’t book direct. EV charging. Lovely bar and restaurant "
