"The hotel and general area was very peaceful. The hospitality was great, and the staff made us feel right at home. The view from the hotel is amazing, being close to both the mountains and the lake. It was also very convenient to drive to beautiful cities, such as Bern, Thun, the local Brienz, and Grindelwald is also not too far. Certainly has a more cottage vibe, but it adds to the experience. Would 10/10 recommend for an authentic Swiss experience."

"We were in Austria but the rains closed all the trains. We decided to go to the Interlaken area. Hotel Alpenrose was the only hotel that wasn’t double our budget. It is really more of a cozy bed and breakfast than a hotel. It was a little bit out of the way but the trains are so easy in Switzerland than it wasn’t an issue. The ride back gave us time to get caught on emails and send pictures and texts friends and family. We would stay there again. "

"I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Dakota. The hotel is a very short and easy walk from the train station, so it was easy to get around. There are many nice walking trails in the city, and the train ride to Lake Brienz is very short and convenient. The area is in a beautiful valley with gorgeous waterfalls nearby, including Reichenbach falls. There are also many nice shops nearby as well as a crafting/farmers market in the mornings. It was easy to book a small and affordable but comfortable room as a solo traveler. Highly recommend."

"This house had ample room for everyone, and was right on the main road with the bus to Grindelwald. The beds were comfortable, and we had a room unlocked for us so that each person could have their own room. We appreciated the large dining room table and kitchen that had all we needed. Note: the garbage bags are under the Oven but we did not know that. Also we learned after our exit that we were to take all of our recycling with us when we left and drop it off at different places in the town. The booking process is more than just VRBO as you have to go through a separate booking agency and there is more paperwork when you stay in Switzerland. But the renters were very easy to reach and help when needed and we received a guest card which offers some tourist discounts. The land lady lives next door and can be there very fast if you need anything. The keyless entry worked well, and we very much appreciated this lovely home, so conveniently located to many beautiful places in the Alps. "
