NOT in town but a 10 minute walk to town on a path. free bus service upon checkin but walking back from town would not be for the elderly. the staff were very nice and helpful and check in was quick. especially good if you make your own food/ nice shared areas and porch. more outside areas to relax would be nice and perhaps a bar. "

"Hotel Alpenhof if a beautiful, peaceful hotel in Grendelwald. We had a suite on the top floor with a balcony and a sweeping view of the mountains and green hillsides. "We were welcomed with a drink on the beautiful balcony while they brought our bags to the room. The room was spacious and air conditioned, however; the comforter was heavy.
