Rooms spacious, furnishing basic We booked for a party of 8, however there were only 6 dining chairs, 6 metal knives and only 5 mugs, of which one had a broken handle. So, provision of equipment was not adequate for the party size booked. There was no check-in information provided. A code for the key safe was e-mailed and sent via text at 1pm of day of arrival, but we had no notice that this was to be the process and we had to chase...

"We stayed over the Christmas period with all of the family and the house was just perfect. Sarah and Kim were there to greet us and made us feel very welcome. The house was decorated for Christmas and was absolutely spotless and very comfortable. The house had everything we needed, a formal room where we could all be together and also lots of cosy snugs. The grounds were also well kept and we enjoyed walking around the garden. Would highly recommend the house to anybody wishing to find somewhere...

However, our otherwise enjoyable experience was let down by the lack of attention to detail, in terms of house-keeping and maintenance/repair. When paying a top-end price (about 7k for 4 nights) it was disappointing that several lights did not work (including bathroom lights, dining room main light, bathroom mirror light), the Aga never got up to cooking temperature even after 4 days...
