"Intimate small hotel with beautiful views of the ocean and tropical landscape (monkeys come visit you at the balcony). Staff and owner go beyond to make you feel at home. You do need a car (as there are no Ubers/taxi readily available). Access to the waterfall was a plus!"

"Close to the beach "

"This was our favorite place we stayed during our six weeks in Costa Rica. The villas are beautiful and the view of the sea is spectacular. The grounds are very well cared for and there are flowers everywhere. Our villa was spacious and private with a lovely terrace where we had cocktails, ate our meals and read books in the late afternoon. It was so peaceful. Upon arrival we were met by the owner who showed us around the villa and all week we were cared for by Rosa, who came in to clean every day. She is such a kind and friendly person, as is her husband, who takes care of the gardens and grounds. The infinity pool was always clean and cool (I think they must have a chiller). Montezuma has a nice beach, although parts of it are very rocky, and a beautiful waterfall that has a difficult climb to reach it. We loved the national parks in the area and went for walks in several of them and saw birds, monkeys and deer. We had a wonderful week and felt far away from the cares of the world."

"We could not be any happier, this was the best location, close to the beach, great pool area to relax in a shady spot for peace and quiet. The rooms and room service are 5***** clean and fresh, smells amazing. The staff is incredibly helpful and so friendly. We felt like we were family. Look out for the two resident iguanas. "

"Right on the beach, quiet elegance but casual atmosphere. Pools everywhere if you don’t want the beach. Excellently run resort, highly competent and friendly staff."

"It was a beautiful property! Like a treehouse tucked away in the jungle, but right on the main strip 5 mins across the street from playa Carmen. Close to great cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores. Our check in process went smoothly and the private family room was perfect, except that we noticed quite quickly the AC wasn’t working on the 2nd level in the bedrooms. The staff were so kind and quick to work hard and fix it by the time we went got back for dinner. 10/10 customer service. Would absolutely stay here again!"

"Beautifully appointed rooms with private plunge pool and view of ocean. Staff very courteous. Breakfasts included in rate were excellent. We ate dinner at the hotel most nights for convenience and because the food and service was good. The main drawback of this hotel is that it is too far away from Santa Teresa and the main beaches to walk so you need to book taxis ( $20 each way), rent an ATV or rent a car. "

"Fabulous location and beautiful grounds! Walking distance to excellent restaurants, grocery and right on prime area of the beach. Food is fantastic and all staff were all wonderful and helpful. Beware of the "standard garden rooms". They are right on road--no protection from street noise:( Bathrooms are dated, but rooms in general are comfortable. Good place to stay."
