"I had an incredible stay at this renovated 1960s motel! They've done an amazing job of preserving the vintage character while adding tasteful, modern updates. The retro decor instantly transports you back in time, with original furnishings that feel straight out of the ‘60s—quirky lamps, classic wood paneling, and a color palette that’s delightfully retro. Despite the vintage aesthetic, the amenities are modern and comfortable: fast Wi-Fi and cozy, plush beds that offer a great night’s sleep. It’s the perfect blend of nostalgia and convenience. The attention to detail is impressive, and I could tell the team here cares about maintaining the motel's history. "There are 3 types of accommodations on site. The Studios, and then there are two houses. There is a firepit on site and a pool. The property is very clean. The studio walls are thin, so if you check in, you can request a studio without anyone directly next door. The continental breakfast is cereal, coffee and yogurt. The property is at the foothills of the mountains, beautiful views. "

"Nice quiet getaway about 30 min from Stratton. We went off season to see the leaves in October so a lot of stores and restaurants were closed, but what is open nearby is delicious. The place is a standard motel, room was clean, coffee maker in the dining area, several lounge spaces, pool table, and a fire pit. Nice ski decor. Sauna, hot tub, and pool spaces were closed. Check in/check out super easy. Easy to reach staff, I’d return next time I plan on coming up here. "

"This was our second stay at the Reluctant Panther, and we enjoyed it very much. Our room in the main building was beautiful. My cousins' room in the next building was great, with a lovely back porch & pond view. We had the breakfast basket everyday in the dining room, which was fine. I would definitely recommend this property for location, decor, cleanliness, and good value. Hope to return again soon!"
