"First the good points - the hotel is situated right next to the Opera House in a touristy part of town, surrounded by half a dozen nice restaurants in the Square. This is important because many (most?) restaurants in Manaus seem to shut on both Sundays and Mondays, except those around the Square. The offices of a few tour agencies (Amazon trips, boat rides, etc) are also within 2 mins walk. Despite its age, the rooms and hotel have been refurbished, with flat-panel TV sets and modern bathrooms....

"This is the best hotel in the City of Manaus. The professionalism of the staff, the cleanliness of common areas as well as room, the awesome breakfasts and dinners at the restaurant Fitz were some of the highlights. The hotel is very attractive and appropriately ‘Amazonic’ but with a modernist influence. The pool is beautiful as well as the lush gardens around it. Villa Amazônia is located downtown and steps away from the Amazonas Theater… a great place to be."
