"We love love loved the wood burning fireplace!!! The deck overlooking the lake was sublime. The kitchen spacious. Didn’t like the tv being in the bedroom. Would prefer to have it over the fireplace. The couch was pretty basic and not comfy. There was no coffee table so we moved the daybed over to put our feet up. Lots of birds chirping. Lovely."

It was pouring almost all the time we were there but there are still beaches to explore (Whiffen Spit is amazing), and the Sooke Brewery has a heated / covered outdoor space that is child- and dog-friendly. In the evening, the sauna and 2-person hot tub can warm you up even if the weather isn't cooperating!"

"Very peaceful and relaxing - a retreat-like setting. The deck is wonderful, and a good place for reading, cooking and meditation. We were a party of 5 adults and the house worked perfectly. The communication was very clear"

Danny welcomed us shortly after we arrived and made sure we knew where to find everything, and had helpful local recommendations. "Spent our first night and husband and wife. Was nice to get away from the city without having to drive too much. No frills basic stay. No light pollution on the night of Perseids meteor shower made for some romantic star gazing. Mongolian yurts were interesting to see! Thanks for a nice stay!"

"The perfect place for us and our pooch! The place had everything we needed and then some. It is welcoming and comfortable - my only complaint is we could not stay longer! It's close to everything, yet quite private and quiet. The outdoor space and hot tub are wonderful. If you enjoy cooking, this place has everything you need, including a fresh herb garden! Highly recommend. "
