"The room has a clean and updated but retro vibe to it. It’s nice to stay in a place that’s not a chain hotel. It reminds me of places that we stayed in the 70’s (but with modern conveniences) when we traveled as a family. The owners are painting the exterior soon. I hope that they keep the retro feel for the exterior. "

"This ended well, so read through. When we pulled into the lot, there was construction equipment everywhere and a guy sitting outside his room smoking. There is no smoking in the rooms, so that was fine, but it felt like we were pulling into a low income neighborhood. Family trip to the Big Apple

"The Manhattan is in a prime location. Super close to the subway and an easy walk to Central Park, Hells Kitchen as well as Times Square. We stayed in a renovated room, which was clean and comfortable. It wasnt luxury, but we werent in the room all that much. The biggest drawback was, there was NO air conditioning. I was told it was turned off. I tried to open the windows, but that provided little relief. Even at summer camp, I had a fan! That being said, the staff were kind and lovely. "

Gorgeous views

"Gorgeous hotel! Staff was not very friendly or helpful, but we didn't need much support from them anyhow. The view from the room was incredible and we didn't want to leave it! The area around the hotel was dead/quiet but I'd bet it's more bustling during the rest of the year (we were here around the holidays). Not many late night eating/drinking options close by. "
