"This island is a great spot to relax and unwind. Set in a beautiful bay with an array of fish. We enjoyed swimming off the west side of the island and managed to catch most of our fish off that side as well. The cottage has everything you need and then some. We managed to rent our own boat through Perth Boat rentals and enjoyed heading into town for a day and fishing for hours. The provincal park is a kayak trip away. "Hosts are very welcoming and show you everything and thought of everything. Very private with large grassy yard My golden doodle had a blast playing fetch and being off leach. We played bocce ball and enjoyed the fire pit as well as the lit screened in picnic table in the evening. Cabin is compact but windows let in a wee breeze. The kayaks were the highlight, kayaking to the waterfall. Happy, relaxing time 😎🐶"

"This place was wonderful! Cozy little cottage and very clean! Barbara was a pleasure. The cottage is close to the main house but our hosts gave us all the privacy and respected our space. "My sisters and I spent an amazing week at Bears Log Cabin! The location of the cottage is very private, peaceful and quiet. Just what we were looking for! The cabin itself is just gorgeous - cozy, comfortable, rustic, but with updated furniture that fits so nicely with the style of the place. "We loved our stay at this cottage. The property was beyond beautiful, with many trails to discover. We hiked to Foley Mountain with breath tracking views, as well as a canoe ride just down the street, which Hermann provides you the canoe for a rental fee. Nothing bad to say, other than a private washroom would be preferred as we felt we had to be quiet while in there, and that the shower wasn't geared towards tall people, having showers as its a handheld shower hose with no curtain. "The place was small and cozy. We didn’t need anything bigger! We only slept in the main bed and it was a comfortable sleep. The waterfront is weedy but still nice to sit on the dock to soak it in. The kayaks are a good touch and there are hiking trails across the road. The property was nice and quiet. The house was equipped with most things. I’d suggest bringing it if you think you’ll need it. "We were pleasantly surprised that the property could comfortably fit 12 people—something most rentals struggle with. The beautiful view and private dock were absolutely perfect! The lake itself was stunning, huge, and so quiet that it felt like we had our own private space.
