"This stay corrosponded with a 50th birthday we were invited to, and chose this accomodation as it was fairly close! We arrived, and no one answered the door, I then phoned, a very polite helpful gentleman let us in, and apologised profusely for not hearing the bell. I was upset at first, that my sister was on the ground floor, and I was on the top floor, but the gentleman carried up my case, I am 67 my sister 75! "Wonderful little independent hotel handy for our trip to Leicester. Booked two rooms - both comfortable and fine. Room 7 however had a large extractor fan right outside the window and was a little noisy. Only fault in an otherwise excellent stay with a fantastic optional breakfast. Particularly polite and helpful staff."

"Very good hotel and staff, let down by attention to detail. TV system needed the channel list updating and fixing - BBC1 was on channel 2 and named "BBC 2" and vice versa. Neither channel presented EPG information. Other channels were out-dated. No directions to restaurant/bar/breakfast - you had to know the name of the restaurant/bar to be able to find them - and "50 The Street" isn't obvious! "Very friendly Italian restaurant with rooms. The room was comfortable and a good size, but was adjacent to the toilets the restaurant guests used. I came out of my room a couple of times just as men were coming out the gents which was a bit off putting. The room was clean and comfortable if a tiny bit dated. The food and the service in the restaurant was very good although i was a bit sad to find myself eating alone for most of my meal in the annex as the restaurant was I assume full. My...
