"This is a beautiful hostel, i thought it was a hotel. I wasn't aware that you had to drive on a rough road up the mountain, i found out 2hrs before we got our car rental. They do provide transportation but we found out last minute. The food at restaurant was really good and the service is great. The beds are hard but not an issue for me."

"The owner was very very generous, friendly and helpful. He treated us as if we were part of his family. You don't get this treatment very often. The location is very close to the entrance El Zaino for the Tayrona Park. The vegetation around the property is fantastic. The only negative side is that the cabins are very close by the road and there is a lot of noise day and night. For the day it might not be a huge problem, but at night if you have poor sleep you might suffer from the noise."

"Really nice place to stay. Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Nice little shared garden and small pool, as well as covered patio in the top floor. We really liked staying here. The hosts were very kind and made tasty breakfast. I got terrible food poisoning from the restaurant next door and our host kindly me made a delicious soup the next day to help me feel better. Lots of highway traffic noise, but with the window closed it’s quiet."

"We arrived at hierba buena and the people working there had no idea that we had a reservation. They called the owner and she told us that there was absolutly no place for us and that we didn’t have a reservation. I then showed the E-mail we got from Hoteles.com, and she simply said, no that’s not true, I can’t help you. It was getting dark and the hostel is located in a very dark area at Tayrona, all the way up the hill, we walked all the way, and she was so rude on the phone saying it’s fully...

"What a wonderful experience at this ecoresort. Definitely not like any other hotel experience. Good signage from the road so easily visible for our cab driver (one hour from Santa Marta). Takes a few minutes to walk into the resort (down a path, across a creek). The staff were all extremely friendly! The dinner was great (simple but super fresh, well cooked, nicely seasoned). The room (or hut) had mosquito nets and the bathrooms clean. Shower was cold and no WiFi but, really, what can you...

"I have no idea how this place has any positive reviews. Easily the worst stay after traveling for 5 weeks in Colombia. Pool was empty and just had a bit of dirty water in bottom despite a promise it would be filled, power was off for most of the 3 days we stayed - they have a backup generator which was only turned on when staff wanted to watch TV or cook, this made the room unbearably hot and in darkness. Wonderful

"We only stayed for 2 nights but it was amazing. I contacted them prior to my trip to ask if they could do anything for my boyfriend's birthday and they made a beautiful bouquet arrangement for him and offered to get a cake and other things too. They were very kind to do that for him. The staff were friendly and were understanding when we checked in so late. The room was very clean and the bathroom was very nice. The food was pretty good and the location was great being only a 12 minute walk from Tayrona park. Overall a great experience and I would stay again!"

"I stayed in two different rooms two nights in a row. This review is for the first night in the bungalow rooms. Overall an excellent and relaxing stay with top notch service. The good: The staff is excellent. My dinner was delicious. I got a massage that was so relaxing and just what I needed. The pool is inviting. The room had a balcony at the back overlooking a stream that was super relaxing. It was so quiet and I slept like a baby. The bad: The room had a slight moldy smell but to be expected given the humidity. They offer a welcome drink that took forever to get, but these are minor and overall no complaints. Based on my experience, I booked another night but could only get the family room. That was a very different experience. I would not recommend the family rooms. I will review that one separately. "
