"I booked this place for my family (seven of us from 5-70) because it was close to Oban, and it served that need well. It also has lots of room, easy walk to Tralee Beach and the fish and chips place, a fireplace, and the person next door was extremely helpful and nice. That said, the directions we were given were not very accurate, and we drove by it twice before finally finding it. "The property is a delight. It’s cosy clean and warm. Not many places offer a view of an ancient castle. Richard shows huge interest in how guests recycle. The compost bin meant all our food waste doesn’t go to land fill. It’s our second time staying in Castle Cottage and would not hesitate to recommend this gem of a place to stay. "

"Four of us (mum, dad and two adult sons) stayed for a week here. It proved the perfect base to enjoy the area. The house is quite small, as per the description, but it had everything we needed and the most stunning views across the bay. The light changes constantly and if you paint, bring your paints. Turner did and it’s obvious why!! Oban is within very easy reach for shopping, meals out, trips to the islands, the lovely Ganavan Sands and more. We had such a great time and we’d do it all again...
