"Difficult one to award stars. The hotel itself, appearance and setting is fantastic. The service and quality of food was exceptional as was the value for money. The one thing that was a huge disappointment was the room. We stayed in room 12. The bed, I think, was installed when the hotel was built, it was so uncomfortable that neither of us slept for more than a couple of hours. Every time any water was used, sink, shower or WC a motor kicked in presumably part of the sewage system. The noise...

"Our visit to Mellington Hall Country House Hotel was fantastic. The property is amazing, the staff were really attentive and amazing also. The food was superb and the service throughout was exceptional. After the meal we sat in the lovely building which has quiet rooms or an open fire. We went just before Christmas and so the property was probably quieter than during the summer months, but we definitely would return to enjoy walking in the surrounding countryside. "I can’t praise this hotel enough I’ve stayed all over the world in some fabulous hotels but this was outstanding. From the moment we arrived our host Pam made us more than welcome even allowing us to take part in their Burns night that they had on that evening . If you’re visiting this area and are lucky enough to get a room this has got to be the best place to stay ."
