"Great location, 15 mins walk (up some steep steps) from beautiful Ragusa Ibla. Villa is well equipped, we particularly enjoyed the pool table and bbq. "A very helpful and friendly host. The accommodation is in need of uprading. The external furniture was of poor quality plastic or old wood without any pads. There were no parasols. The waste disposal arrangements are inadequate. Air conditioning should be installed upstairs as a minimum. The steps up to the town are overgrown and totally unlit. This is not Lucio's fault but he should accurately describe the situation. The property has great potential. Lucio is a superb host"

The rooms were spacious and always cool, a perfect sanctuary from the heat. The pool and entertaining areas were perfect for gatherings and afternoon cocktails. "We had a wonderful holiday at Paolo's villa. It is a real gem of a house with a wonderful pool, and great views right over the countryside towards Syracuse and the coast. The pool was exceptional and the shallow end was perfect for children. They loved it. Check in was smooth and Paolo was very helpful and quick with communication. "Elio welcomed us with a magnificent spread of local delicacies and a bottle of wine. The villa itself is comfortable, well laid out and well decorated. Lovely pool and many different areas of the garden to enjoy. Of special note is the BBQ area, tucked away down steps to a lower part of the garden. A great place to while away the evening."

"Plus qu'un séjour, c'est une formidable rencontre avec Salvatore et Paola. Accueil irréprochable, chaleureux et d'une générosité sans pareil. Merci pour toutes les attentions quotidiennes, les conseils, et ce repas partagé avant notre départ :) La maison est très propre, fonctionnelle. Tout est mis à notre disposition pour passer un bon séjour. La piscine entièrement rénovée est juste formidable, avec son tobogan, bouée et ballon... elle a fait le bonheur des enfants ... et des parents aussi...

Beautiful Modica

"Hotel Itria is an amazing hotel with beautiful views of Modica below. It is totally worth the very many steps to get to it from Modica bassa. Whether taking the steps day or night the views are unbeatable. The hotel itself is well run, comfortable bedding, excellent bathroom, an ample array of breakfast choices. I would definitely stay there again. Modica is a wonderful place to visit and not to be missed. "

Locanda Don Serafino Historical Boutique Hotel

"This hotel building, carved into the stone, survived the 1693 earthquake and is over seven hundred years old. Josepi, on his second day at work, was an enormous help in parking my car, which was a midsize MG SUV. He went over and above what was expected. Breakfast was a joy with great staff, that would make you coffee exactly how I wanted it and kept it coming without having to ask. Sparkling wine awaited you in the cavern-like separate sitting area upon arrival after a stressful drive, before checking in. Linda and Eugenio gave us incredible service making reservations at restaurants for us and advice on visiting Modica, Scicli, and Ragusa. Linda phoned a restaurant for me when I thought that I had left my hat behind. The atmosphere of the hotel more than made up for the somewhat tight quarters of our room which could be accessed from the street, or by going up a spiral staircase cut int0 the stone behind the front desk. Service at it’s finest."
