"Lovely, comfortable property with beautiful views. The pool was a great asset to cool down in on hot days. Easy access to local supermarkets. Would recommend having a car to get out and about with. Hugo is an excellent friendly host with lots of great tips of where to go."

Nur dafür ist das Appartment zu klein und unkomfortabel eingerichtet, das Terrassendach undicht und die Terrasse somt nicht nutzbar, die Sitzgelegenheiten unbequem und zum Trocknen der Sachen keine Hängemöglichkeiten. "Just back from 5 days staying in Fanjeaux at Danielle and Denis's lovely little gite. Communication with Danielle was very smooth as was checking in. The apartment is underneath the hosts accommodation but is still very private. The gite is very well equipped and has plenty of outside seating areas and an awesome pool which is shared with hosts. "This property though simple was an excellent value. Rooms were clean. Parking was plentiful. Included breakfast was very good. Easy walk to the fortress. The only downside was the laundry. With only one machine with a very small drum and many long-term residents, I would not count on the machine's availability. If you need to do laundry, there is a very good commercial one about a half-mile from the hotel. "

Best way to stay to immerse yourself in old times

"The medieval city of Carcossonne is amazing, like stepping back in time, and staying at the Hotel De La Cite just contributes to this feeling (although only build in 1880's). A grand, imposing building directly opposite the Basilicca puts it at the heart of the old city. Excellent service, lovely comfortable rooms and a garden that is great for relaxing in the afternoon sun."

Hôtel Le Donjon - Coeur de la Cité Médiévale

"The Hotel Le Donjon is one of the most unique places I've ever stayed. It was a great experience. From our room we could see the Chateau Comtal, the castle of Carcassonne. The hotel is right in the middle of La Cite Medievale, near the Aude Gate. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. It was great staying in the walled city. We could bring our purchases back to the room easily. The hotel also has a secured parking lot that it shares with the nearby Hotel de La Cite. We would definitely stay here again and request the same room!"
