"The address given in the confirmation email was wrong and we ended up at a hostel Casa Blanca in another part of the city. Luckily the hostel called us another taxi otherwise we would have been stranded in the middle of the night in what seemed like an unsafe area. The hotel had no record of our booking when we arrived - I guess they don't check emails. But they gave us a room anyway. It was basic but ok - definitely a case of getting what you pay for.
