"There were positives about this property but also some negatives. The house was warm, we enjoyed the wood burner, the beds comfy and the shower good. It was superficially clean but not really clean (the kitchen floor was grimy, so too all the edges and corners of the rooms), the nearby road was noisy with the bedroom window open at night and the house lacked some basics (no mop for said kitchen floor, no tea towels or dish cloths which we ended up buying just for the stay). It lacked the extras...

"Acer Cottage is ideally situated for exploring the area. Tideswell is peaceful yet very well served with essential services. It was a treat to find the Merchant’s Yard just steps away and the bakery was great too. The cottage itself was equipped and furnished to a high level and communication before arrival was excellent. "I booked this property and paid direct to the property. I received confirmation of payment by email. I drove to the property expecting a code for the key box. I did not get one. I tried phoning the letting company, no response, email no response, what'sapp no response. I contracted Hotels.com who also pursued. no response. I have lost my money and had to find alternative accomodation at a higher cost. do NOT book to stay at this property. it is a scam "

"Great for our party of 13 as there was plenty of room for us all and the kitchen was well equipped with cooking equipment ,plates and glasses etc. Some of the rooms and areas look a bit tired and could do with an upgrade (stair carpets, walls painting and floors could be cleaner downstairs) but bathrooms clean and beds comfy. it’s also great to have the farm shop and the pub next door is great - very friendly and helpful and lovely pub meal and service."

"The property was clean, stylish and comfortable. It is located in the highly convenient area where you can easily access Aldi, Waitrose, asian supermarket and everyone's favourite the Moor market! I love that there are lots of bedrooms that we can use for different purposes. If you use the floor heating in the dining kitchen in addition to the main heating, you can stay warm. The host was always friendly and eager to help guests."

"Beautifully renovated property with a lot of thought into what guests might need whilst there. Spacious bedrooms, lovely cosy lounge and gorgeous kitchen space. Even managed to try the hot tub in the rain! Seemed pricey for the location, but having stayed in the property was worth the extra. We’ll definitely return next time we visit family back home."

"Our family of 5 (13,16,16, 2-adults) had a great experience! Dave and Cath we VERY responsive to all questions, and the home was perfect. They live on a great hobby farm with lots of animals to see. Perfect 5min walk to a cute small town including: grocery, meat market, coffee, and great shopping, great views, excellent hospitality (and the farm fresh eggs and brownies we delish!). For the golfers, there’s even an excellent 18 hole golf course 5 minutes away! Don’t miss out on this rental!"

However a few things to make it better : 1- the oven/microwave didn’t work even after trying a few times. It needs a master in engineering to make it work.
