"I've stayed here before without any issues. Unfortunately that wasn't the case for my last visit. The hotel states that the reception closes at midnight - if you're going to be later to contact them for the code to get the keys. This has worked well for me in the past when I've had a late flight . On this occasion my flight arrived at Malaga about 7.45pm so I knew I would make it to reception with plenty of time. "Greeted by Manageress, granted requested balcony room. English a bit lacking but certainly better than my Spanish. Room a tad basic but comfortable beds, good size balcony with table and chairs. Plentiful hot water for bathing or shower, decor somewhat dated as was furnishings, a fresh lick of paint wouldn't go amiss. Mask's to be worn in hotel common area's * a good thing! Staff pleasant enough, maid, Mirta, very helpful for train and bus travel advice. Regular fresh towels. At the price...

"Fantastic location. The hosts were excellent and couldn’t do enough. However the one drawback was, there was no air con and no fly screens. There was a lovely sea breeze but I got so many mozzie bites cos we left windows open. Suggest either air conditioning or fly screens. We had to spray the room several times. "

"There was building work going on next door drilling from 8:30-6 so very noisy (you couldn’t sit on balcony) and walls very thin so could hear neighbours talking & coughing. Reception did not tell us that we had to pay for the safe until we went to say we couldn’t get it to work. In a good position for old town and the front promenade and car park next door."

"Very central hotel in centre ...decor is very nice..our room was a good size comfy bed ...nice views of Málaga and sea....breakfast was excellent...served until 1 30 pm. Sometimes wasn't very hot food though...shame! .lots of choice...friendly staff throughout hotel..very reasonable bar prices....."

Holiday Inn Express Malaga Airport by IHG

"This is a convenient place to stay if you have a late/ early flight out of Malaga airport. While it is close to the airport as the crow flies, it can be pretty tricky to get yourself into the parking lot. Nice staff, nice place."

"The hotel is fantastic, the staff was so friendly, the food spread was delicious and variable. The breakfast was my favourite, fresh guacamole, amongst other things, was the best way to start the day! For those wanting to travel by bus there is a bus stop right outside the hotel. It takes about 40 minutes to get to the city centre. There is also a QR code listed at the stop which tells in how many minutes the bus will arrive at the stop, this is extremely handy for planning the departure time from sitting in your hotel room! "
