"We had a fantastic stay here! The staff Alex and the team, were super friendly and had even planned daily group activities. We ordered the dinner set and it was incredible! We were able to get a ride to and from the train station, which was greatly appreciated. I would recommend giving them a call if you need to (we just used a payphone) as there was issues with sending messages on this website. "I can say this is by far the best accommodation I have lived in during my numerous holidays all these years. I can honestly live there for at least a month. It's just such a cute double story villa with amazing views outside and it feels like a home. It's got everything you need and all the space you want. Great for even a family. "I enjoyed staying here, but there are some things that can be improved. The air filter in the bathroom had not been cleared in a really long time, if ever. No one has dusted behind the TV in quite some time. I stayed for two weeks, but was only given 1 role of toilet paper and a meager amount of dish soap. The lighting outside is very dim and I was worried about slipping when come back in the evening when it had rained. It would also be helpful to have instructions in English for the appliances....

"It’s a bit tricky to find the place but it’s as described, modern, clean and easy check in/ out. Good option in Beppu if you have a car I guess. "

"Ease of access from train station. Room was big, the biggest one for our 15 nights trip in Japan. Sound proof was great as couldn't hear anything from the train tracks despite the distance. Breakfast was great. Wife loves the onsen facility. Highly recommended and will definitely be staying here in future trip!"

"Nice property just off the main street, near train station. It is pet friendly with 3 resident cats roaming around the lobby. You get to book 2 sessions at the baths after checked in, the semi open bath on the 2nd level is popular, while the rooftop bath may not be a good idea in cold weather although the view is great. You get free use of the bicycles for your stay. There is no lift so you have to carry your luggages up and down the stairs."

"There are many different choices of onsens in the ryokan. The staff are excellent as well, their english proficiency is one of the best I’ve seen as well. Although there were some incidents at the start when we check in, the staffs are very efficient at dealing with it. Overall I’ll recommend anyone who visits Kurokawa onsen to give this ryokan a try"
