"Koko hotel near Nijo Castle is strongly recommended. The room was roomy enough for 4 of us. The staff was friendly. You do need to keep your keycard in the slot near the front door to activate electricity. The property is located on a smaller street (on the same street as the dry cleaner). You may miss it at first. There is a coffee/breakfast spot right next to the hotel. It is quite convenient. We used Uber during our 2 nights stay at Kyoto. They were able to pick us up at the hotel....

"We really enjoyed our stay here. We were 5 adults and 1 child. The hotel is newer, very clean, and the staff was great. Check in and check out we’re very quick and easy. Have the laundry and detergent readily available was very convenient and helpful. The hotel is by a 711, 2-3 minute walk to the blue line which is one stop to Gion. "Large appartments style rooms. We were a family of 5 (2 adults & 3 kids) and each had a bed. Could easy fit more people. Rooms were clean with useful amenities. Located right next to Ebisucho train station. "

"This location had a very spacious interior. Check-in process was very simple. The food options were somewhat limited depending on the time, whether it was after 8pm or not most shops in area begin closing by 9. There are some places that are open late night so don’t be discouraged. I had trouble contacting the property in a timely manner, as I mistakenly misplaced a personal item. Unfortunately the property manager responded a bit too late to my inquiry in regards to the misplaced personal item...
