"The aircon is controlled by the staff and only on 7pm-9am and on my first night it was set at 27oC so might as well not existed (it was 26 outside)! The bed was hard and the bathrooms multisex and shared with the cafe downstairs. Overall there’s better hostels for the same or less in Phuket Old Town."

"Travelled from Canada solo. Age 45. Mad Monkey was fantastic. Chill upbeat vibes during the day. From around 6:30pm-11:30pm was fun party vibes. Quiet times from Midnight to Noon"ish". Easy 5 min walk to patong beach and 10 min walk to crazy Bangla road nightlife. Anything you could want or need is everywhere around you at all times. Very social atmosphere with awesome staff. Justin and Win took great care of me. Coming back next year with friends and will only stay here again. I'm gonna email...

"It was a decent stay but I wasn't a fan of the cleanliness of the place. Inside my cubby wasn't the cleanest as there was some stuff on the walls and it made me feel grossed out and the moldy wet smell wasn't my favorite either. Also, the beds were hard and not all that comfy. Other than that it was in a very convenient area and liked that I was able to quickly get some food or do laundry without hastle."

"Loved having washer and dryer available for use. Pool was clean and refreshing. Quiet room. "

"Overall would recommend. Beds were comfy and aircon was good if you cranked it. Nice private bunks. Bathrooms were a little grimey, but manageable. Pretty big language barrier with staff, were not helpful with travel plans. They were very sweet and wanted to help but have limited English. Right night to 7-11 and a manageable walk to the beach. Pretty quiet at night too!"

"Great hostel to stay at, very lively and always something going on. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a private room which was just like a very standard hotel room. Music was loud but that is expected with it being a party hostel, and music is turned down every night at 1 anyways. Overall a very pleasant stay!"

"The hostel is great and so the conditions. It’s necessary they create a plan for things that people leave in the room when checking out, because my room had a lot of clothes and personal stuffs that did not belong to any of the people staying there. "

"My husband and I had an amazing time at SAMSAM. The staffs that SAMSAM is super friendly and super responsive. The food by SAMSAM is absolutely delicious! The resort is located in a great area, and near by is walkable beach and local cafe and restaurants! The resort also offers bike rentals and scooter rental for fee which allowed us to explore the island! I would highly recommend SAMSAM :) "

"Really nice hotel and pools. Buffet breakfast was good with a few different options. They do have a restaurant which we didn’t try. The room has basic necessities - towels, dressing gowns, slippers, toiletries etc. Bottled water is provided every day. Kitchen is stocked with cooking utensils, plates etc but you need to buy your own ingredients. The room has a TV but no streaming platforms so best to bring a HDMI cable. Daily housekeeping is good. "Very good hotel location and facilities on a hilltop slope overlooking Potong Beach & Bay Area. Good staff services quality. Resort Hotel style setting ambiance and atmosphere. The hotel was clean and safe with easy local transport connections to shopping, dining and attractions. Family friendly with 3 pool area and private beach area. Spa Therapy was very good."

"A top-notch place, especially the breakfast - so many options for everyone! I filled up on fresh papaya and pineapple, muesli, and cook-to-order omelet, the kids liked the pastries and bottomless Nutella, while my husband preferred the more traditional Thai cuisine. Our lattes were also excellent. Location very convenient to Patong beach, we walked there easily. Beautiful and expansive rooms."

"Probably the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I was worried about staying here because we had to pick between this and Phi Phi due to the length of our trip, and I’m so glad we picked this. Was my favorite part of Thailand so far. The hotel is so beautiful, and where you breakfast each day has a panoramic view of the ocean. Food is great. We liked the green curry. The beach is quiet and serene. The whole resort is relaxing. But it also has options for excursions you can book through the hotel, including to see the islands in the bay. We ended up booking through the company outside the hotel to tour the islands by longboat and that was incredible. "
