"The hotel is a large old inn on the outside, but inside is modern, clean and very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and looked after us very well. For example: we were shown to our room on arrival (never had that before) and were a font of knowledge about the various local walks and sights. There is even a map painted on the ceiling of the bar! Restaurant was an excellent source of hearty and freshly cooked meals (breakfasts and dinners). Highly recommend."

"After reading a review in a paper we decided to try for ourselves. The George and Dragon staff were so welcoming and friendly easy to talk to and very helpful. "I expected to be able to have a meal as the details indicated a restaurant but there was no evening food available. As they had few guests they also closed the bar at 7.30 pm. Odd as when I booked it indicated that there was limited availability. The hotel is pretty basic. The room was clean though and decent breakfast. This has slightly dented my trust in the accuracy of details provided on Expedia. I had been travelling around the north of England and this was the least value for money."
