"The house itself is good, comfortable, and fairly reflects the listing, with ample space for a large house party. However, our otherwise enjoyable experience was let down by the lack of attention to detail, in terms of house-keeping and maintenance/repair. When paying a top-end price (about 7k for 4 nights) it was disappointing that several lights did not work (including bathroom lights, dining room main light, bathroom mirror light), the Aga never got up to cooking temperature even after 4 days...

There was good space for the 12 people in our party, but again beds and amenities in the rooms and bathrooms could use updating. It's an old home but I've stayed in plenty of old homes that have been updated as best they can.
