"All of the staff here are friendly and helpful as could be. The AC in the room worked great (and was quite necessary with the heat) and the fan on the terrace was a nice feature as well. Some people don't like the noise from the Barefoot Bar next door, but with the AC on at night we could barely hear anything from there. "Can't say enough about how wonderful this little Hopkins gem is! Right on the beach and at the same time in the centre of a walkable village! Bought our fruits and veggies on the street, best coffee right next door, and several rustic beach restaurants within easy walking distance. We tried them all and enjoyed every meal. This is a real village, not a resort, so expect the sounds and friendly people of every day life. Don't forget to tip the gentleman who cleans and rakes the sand all the way...

"Our stay was comfortable, with a good distance of walking to Lobster fest. Our room was pretty clean, provided all the amenities mentioned, and even soap and towels. There were some leftover, used things of soap that were still in the shower area from visitors past. It was hard to find our place at first, and even as I was sitting in my hammock one of the days, some visitors had to ask me to help them find their building. But overall, once we got settled it was a great spot to stay at."

"Peaceful, clean and close to the beach."

"Went here during july and we enjoyed our visit here. Few steps to the beach, kyaks available, sperated property so you dont have to worry about people above or below you. Peaceful area as its away from the main road Right in the heart of Placencia so your not too far of a walk from any particular place Host was quick with responding and offered help whenever ypu needed it The neighbors whom are locals are also around and available to help. One thing about the property is tgat there is no AC....

"This is a very cool little cluster of cabanas and a bar/restaurant on a legit TINY island. The staff is great, the food is decent, and the snorkeling could be better, but overall it was a fun stay. We were the only ones staying on the island, which was pretty cool."

"Truly a slice of paradise. The staff are incredible, the food is amazing, the amenities are plentiful. We had the most amazing stay with our 5 and 7 year olds. Never a dull moment. And, even in the rain, we made fantastic memories. king Leary’s does not disappoint. "

"No Air Conditioning, no television, no hot water, stove didn’t work, and refrigerator stopped working. I booked 22 nights and left after 2 nights. Save your money."

"First off, the owners and manager are awesome. They are very responsive, and communicate very well. The location was perfect for us, in the middle of Hopkins town. You are able to get the feel for day to day life of the residence. The people were fantastic. The place is nice and quaint, but we loved it. My wife and I both agree, the only thing it was lacking was a couch in the lounge. But honesty, we loved the place and our time in Belize. Nice work!!"

"First, we were told we wouldn't need to meet anyone there, that there would be a lock-box and we could just get in. The cabana was hard to find and not marked (to know which one was ours), and the combination we were given was wrong. The wifi information we were given was also wrong, and the wifi network we were given access to barely worked. It looks like there is a dedicated router at the location, but it was disconnected. Amenities listed that were not in fact included: -Washer and Dryer...

"Loved the friendly young caretaker lady. Thanks for being so entertaining and accomodating. Enjoyed an upgrade of cabin and was what I needed for food preparing. Limited dine out and groceries nearby. Buy before arriving in Belmopan or Dangriga."

"This is not for everyone... and that is a good thing! But for those of you that are not looking fior luxury and don't mind a little rustic charm... this might be for you. Basic, locally built, cabins on a cloudy (but teeming with wildlife) river. Comfortable bed, good appliances, reasonably equipped kitchen. The worst we could say... no wine glasses, in fact no glassware at all, just plastic tumblers and coffee mugs. However, sundowners still taste pretty good from a coffee mug when that sunset...

"If you want to disconnect from the outside world then this is the place. We loved our time here with Dustin, Kim, and Ama. The food Kim prepared was some of the best we’ve had anywhere and the company during our stay was delightful. We snorkeled before breakfast on our own around the island and after breakfast Dustin and Ama would take us on kayaks to a reef off one of the neighboring islands where we found conch, and other fresh fish and seafood for our meals. We had an absolute amazing time!...

"This property was just what we were looking for. Although you can’t swim in the river, listening to the birds, kayaking and sitting in the screened in porch to enjoy the river were great for us. We did rent a car for three of our seven days to go hiking in Mayflower Bocawina NP and drove to Placencia one day. The bikes were great to go to Hopkins and we also walked once. Anthony was great at answering our questions and we bought some groceries and cooked some meals as well as enjoyed local...

"Easy space and surrounding to spend time in with a variety of places to relax on property. Greatly appreciated the kitchen and well stocked dishes so we could relax in the mornings without having to go out. Loved to ease of access to the water and opportunity to paddle around. Was a quiet setting with easy access to both Sittie and Hopkins."

"Excellent place, new,fresh, clean, stylish. Up on stilts so you get a nice breeze. Just as pics appeared. Only real concern is that the driveway is sandy and taxis got stuck repeatedly. Just needs some gravel. Had a little trouble contacting the property manager to work out an early check in but staff were friendly and helpful."

"Toll eigerichtete Ferienhütte mit allem drum und dran. Super ruhig mit netten Nachbarn. Man kann eine Tour mit dem hauseigenen Kayak machen oder einfach nur entspannen. Gut eingerichtete Küche und sehr geräumig. Bequeme Betten. Gerne wieder! Allerdings braucht man ein schlaglochfestes Fahrzeug um hinzukommen."

"We loved our stay here. All our rooms in the bungalow had floor ceiling glass doors and had beautiful ocean views. Staff was courteous. The only issue was the restaurant menu had limited choices for vegetarians so we didn't eat there much. "

Serene beach stay

"Awesome location on a pretty beach with surreal sunrises and moonrises. The location is quiet and restful. Our room was very practical with a small fridge, drinking water, and A/C.The shower was tiny with dismal water pressure. Breakfast was perfect for us. It consisted of some sweet bread, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs and coffee with a tropical breeze and a wonderful view. We enjoyed the beach and took advantage of the free use of a kayak. The pool area was peaceful and lovely. The property manager, Valesca, epitomized great service. She went out of her way to make sure our needs were met and made us feel at home. We checked out this morning and I already miss it. "
