"My fiance has dreamed about staying at this place since she was a little girl in Tanzania. She told me this after I had found another place to book :) I'm glad we switched though! "I wanted this place initially from the Expedia listing and the photos. Overall great place / we ended up back in the area and spent a couple nights here. Outdoor dining on the ocean/sea waterfront was great! Staff was excellent and we enjoyed the pool. The place needs some touch up / the rooms need an overhaul and it's obvious that the finishers in this place either didn't finish or the finish work failed in the rooms and other areas. Easily fixable. Would stay again."

Affordable, Pleasant Stay

"The owners and employess work really hard to ensure you have a pleasant and enJOYable stay. You can have dinner at the hotel or directly across the street at their restaurant. I appreciated that they don't play loud music late into the night. The breakfast was really good: there's juice, hot food, cereals and baked goods. Dinner is a bit expensive, but that is to be expected at a hotel along the coast. BW does a decent job of keeping their area of the beach clean--folks have to do a better job of not littering. My room (207) was a decent size. You can tell they completed some renovations but need to just patch some holes that were previously drilled. The blackout curtains were a plus! I'd definitely stay again because of the staff and envirnment. "

"Staying at the Golden Tulip was fantastic. Historic charm, delightful staff, delicious food. It is an old hotel that was much more grand in yesterday year. While aged, it could use a few upgrades (my bed was a bit lumpy) but all in all, charming and convenient and well worth the price."

"I booked ocean view suite but got city view so was a bit disappointed. And i was there while they hosted a number of VIPs so there was a lot of police, military and so on. And guests were being cautioned on not wearing very revealing clothes. I guess it wasnt the establishment's choice but yeah it was quite frustrating. The staff were amazing. Food, not so much"
