"It was very clean and the staff was nice. The view of the river was nice. The room was very small considering I had paid for a suite. The mattress slid around on the bedframe. I kept having to fix it. There is very little counter space in the bathroom. I had to leave all of my toiletries on the dresser and only bring in a few items at a time as I was using them. Also very few outlets to use for charging. I feel like I overpaid for what I got."

The most thoughtful hosts

"I have stayed at a lot of rental properties over the years and this home by far had the most thoughtful touches of any place we’ve ever stayed. From the bathroom and kitchen supplies (ie shampoos, extra toothbrushes/toothpaste, toilet paper, paper towels, coffee pods, creamers, welcome snacks), etc. I could go on and on. The hosts go above and beyond. We have a child at WCU and the property is a quick 5 minutes from campus. Super convenient!The house is beautiful and the views are awesome. Heads up that the road to get to the house is a little scary and would definitely need all wheel drive in the winter. My only gripe is that the basement was freezing, but there is a portable fireplace that helped with the heat. Overall, I would highly recommend and look forward to being a repeat renter. "

Great cabin by the river

"We were here to attend Open House for our son at Western Carolina University. The location was perfect and the space extremely comfortable and warm. Loved the fireplace and being able to go out to sit by the river and listen to nature. We will be back anytime we come to visit our son if he picks Western Carolina to go to College. "

"Fist time staying at this location and all of our party really liked everything about the property! It very handy to the WCU, Sylvia and other things in the area. Great parking plenty of room for our four legged child and all around good property."

"We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin! It was so cozy and inviting, even better than we had hoped for. Check-in was a breeze, and our host was super responsive, making sure everything was just right. Carol went above and beyond by adding some lovely Christmas decorations that really made our family feel at home.The view from the cabin was absolutely breathtaking, and the peaceful setting was perfect for unwinding. It felt so nice to be tucked away in a secluded spot right above the lake—exactly what we needed to escape the hustle and bustle!Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience! We truly enjoyed every moment in this beautiful cabin. The thoughtful amenities really made our stay special, especially the well-stocked kitchen with all the supplies and spices we needed. And oh my, the hot tub was just amazing! Having kayaks and a pedal boat available was such a fun bonus too. We couldn’t recommend this cabin more!"

A Christmas to remember

"What a peaceful, beautiful and tucked away piece of heaven! We spent 3 days in our pjs resting and recuperating from a long years worth of trials and tribulations. THIS is the best place to do just that! No frills, just basic needs and nature. On our last full day we ventured into Sylva for a little “retail therapy” at Walmart and a few other quaint local shops before returning to Cullowehee to dine on the most delicious pizza at Rodgers Bros.(highly recommended them by the way). Packed and had another wonderful night sleep on our bed that was warmed from beneath the sheets with a warming pad and then atop of the sheets a thick warm duvet. We had some cold nights…28-38 degrees but that just made snuggling more important We will definitely be back, Matt the land owner and his son Cole are gracious hosts. The Stays (booking agents) were very helpful and answered our questions quickly. 10-10"
