"This is an excellent hotel, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Madeira. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, everything is extremely clean, the breakfast is delicious with lots of choice. The room was big, tastefully decorated and well equipped with a comfy bed. The hotel is set in a botanic garden that’s a wonderful oasis and so relaxing. There is a great pool and other leisure facilities. There is also a tortoise. What more could you want? Look no further - stay here! "

"Amazing staff, always doing their best to grant an excellent stay. Great location, comfortable and clean (although some mold can be seen in the washroom). Only area of improvement I suggest is their Wi-Fi - tremendously slow: speeds should be improved. "

"Amazing view especially at night. Pool is so lovely but a lil chilly in winter, great to practice some singing & swimming if a little cold. Also a great view with pool. Bathroom is beautiful and bed super comfy. Love the Big flower fan on the roof...love the kitchen space downstairs. Great place to stay!"

"The hotel is above a shopping centre without any grounds around the hotel, however, it is in an excellent location within easy walking distance to the old town. All the staff were very helpful throughout our stay. The bedroom was sleek and modern with an ‘open plan’ shower/wash area. The beds were very comfortable with 3 different pillows varying from soft to firm. There are no views other than from the rooftop swimming pool and bar area but this didn’t significantly detract from the stay as we were out most of the time. The breakfast buffet was excellent with good quality ingredients and freshly squeezed orange juice. We were also amused by the mobile robot which took the dirty dishes back to the kitchen. Overall the hotel lives up to it’s 5 star billing, is excellent value for money and I would highly recommend a stay at the Vine the next time you are in Funchal."

"The breakfast was fresh, with a variety of choice. The bedroom was nice clean and spacious with a view that was amazing to watch the sunrise each morning from the balcony. The facilities were good, the bus services 155 into town always punctual and again the journey to Funchal had amazing ocean and hilltop views, with winding roads offering a nice sceneric veiws. I enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend."

"Ana “ morning buffet “ Fatima front desk and another Venezuelan lady “ worked at the front desk with Fatima “ were professional , fun to talk to . This is my fourth time to Madeira but first time staying at this property . I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to others . Very convenient, walking distance. They have a bar at the 5th floor “ you can use your welcome drink ticket there “ . "

"The property is more spectacular in person than the pictures can show. Ruben was a wonderful host and went above and beyond to check us in, arrange an airport transfer and answer all questions quickly during our stay. I wish we would have had more time to enjoy the property and Funchal. All representations in the listing are accurate. 11/10! "

AMAZING VIEW over the bay, by the Old Town, walk to the city, totally quiet area

Quiet Quinta above the old town

"Property is very characterful with great views. We very much liked the area being a little away from the main tourist zones but we like to walk. Hosts and staff all very lovely and helpful. We were two floors up via a metal exterior spiral staircase, we rather liked it and it is well mentioned in the advert but it would not be suitable for everyone. Mattress was rather hard and we did not get used to it after 2 weeks. Swimming pool is wonderful and if we are back in Funchal we would try and book the same place again. Very pleased we did not stay in the Lido area as to us it is vastly over developed."

Spacious apartment, Splendid sea and mountain view

AMAZING Sunset View of Funchal and the Island

"The views and the breeze from the apartment were stellar. The apartment itself is a little funky but we had everything we needed. We LOVED the full-on views from the living room and bedrooms and the gardens all around . We very much appreciated the washer and dryer! Sadly, we couldn't sleep with the patio doors open for the fresh air because way down below is a highway with motorcycles racing in the middle of the night and my husband is sensitive to noise when sleeping. Filomena sometimes took a bit to respond but she was helpful and I really appreciated that she made a haircut appointment for me with a good stylist during our stay which was badly needed. The apartment is up multiple steep hills so it is not a walkable area but we found a few good restaurants close by that we drove to and of course ate in Funchal and other places around the island. The driving on Madiera is a challenge! The GPS kept lagging at crucial moments, but we learned to allow at least double the time on the GPS and did a lot of u-turns or round-about turns -all part of the experience of being on such a gorgeous mountain. We enjoyed out stay here very much."
