"This will have to be my most favorite part of my trip to Japan. You will have to intentionally come here for the temple stay. First and foremost, the facility will ONLY ACCEPT CASH payment for the stay. Though my wife and I were not too fond of the shared wash rooms to wash up. I don’t believe the facility has rooms with private wash rooms. The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. They offer traditional breakfast and dinner(vegan friendly, though I am not, very delicious!). Wake up...

"It was nearly empty so we were upgraded. Usually I think there would be a lot of people. Rooms were excellent and service good. Food was simple but for the price I can’t complain. "

"Excellent Ryokan that has been well maintained and cared for given its long history. The old facility is evident and yet despite that, provided a cosy stay. The host was extremely warm and welcoming and showed the hospitality as one would expect from a traditional Ryokan passed down from decades old. "It’s worth noting that this is not a normal hotel but a traditional pilgrim’s lodging, so it is expected that you sleep on a mat on the floor and the facilities are relatively basic. You are staying here for the experience. The property was clean with onsen (hot bath) provided and our room had its own toilet/sink. Our only complaint is that they no longer serve food and we were not notified of this despite this being part of our booking, however we found a restaurant for dinner walking distance...

"The place is exactly what I was looking for during our vacation. I wanted to go somewhere quiet and not very busy. I was looking for a place that was not so touristy and this was it. All the staff were super nice to us visitors. It will take some planning to get to the hotel. But once you figure it out and get there, you will find the peace and tranquillity you’re searching. "Good location, great services, has all need. There is no private bathroom, all shared bathrooms, their no chairs all sitting on floor. Could do with a little low chair in room. I had to ask for goma fire as they are not doing them anymore. I think they should have them, lots of people wanted it. I book late, had double price it should be, over price. At normal price it is a good placed to stay and would recommend."

"The hotel is pas its prime and needs either a major renovation or a sunset. Too many things are falling apart or feel abandoned."
