"The Sugarbeat B&B is a great home from home, staff, food and service is top notch! Our room ‘Manilow’ was ok but noisy in the morning from 0700 with extractor fans for kitchens, plus doesn’t go off until 1100. The room low roof made it very difficult to relax, plus only one chair to watch tv or have a coffee in room. Cleanliness could be a little bit better with some stains and marks on furniture. Overall an excellent place and have booked again for April."

"It's great value for the money, having to go to the bathrooms is a drag, especially if you've had a few drinks The bathrooms are clean The building well maintained Think there's 6 parking spaces, first come first served, but as it's a hotel with a restaurant next door, you would be lucky to get one Overnight parking is across the road, if you can work it all out, parking in Norwich is expensive Restaurant is only for Vegetarians Vegans"

"Stayed at the Paradise over a bank holiday weekend. I thought the level of service from the staff I met was first class, thank you. Bed was very comfirtable and overall the room was spacious. Ensuite shower worked perfectly. I think the kitchen needs a few extra utensils such as a bottle opener, but the cooking facilities overall were good and helped to save money. The people in the room above could be noisy but in general we had a good night's sleep and had an enjoyable stay."

"The Lyndhurst was perfect for our stay as we just needed a room while visiting family. The location is perfect if you want to be super central and walking distance from the beach and attractions. The room itself was small but big enough to fit everything you need in it. Its was decorated nicely and comfortable. "

"Good reception, we were expected and shown to our room. Quiet location, very isolated but a very popular venue, well attended. Restaurant food is excellent and the English breakfast was superb. Our room was directly over the bar and it’s quite noisy which didn’t bother us particularly as it quietens down after closing. The walls are quite thin so you can hear guests in other rooms. "We were given room 4, apparently it has an Infamous reputation as the lad who looks after the hotel called a few hours before check-in to ask if we wanted to find alternative accommodation due to the amount of complaints they have about this room. Unfortunately Hotels.com were not especially helpful in changing our booking and we were about to set off so opted to just keep the room. It is at the top of the hotel, 4 flight of stairs up. "In our 2-night stay we had no contact with anyone else at the hotel, but could hear othwr guests a little from our room. Check-in was easy with guidance sent in advance, and the room was cleaned well during the day. The accomodation was clean and comfortable, although the common areas were unlit during the day so quite dark. A small amount of shampoo and shower gel was provided, and the room had a kettle. "We enjoyed a lovely one night staff a Decoy Barn. We were given tea and cake on arrival and a lovely breakfast the next morning. It was a very comfortable bed which was much needed after a long journey. Many thanks."

"This cottage is utterly beautiful. The rooms are well equipped and beautifully furnished. You won't need to take your slippers for the stay, the underfloor heating keeps your toes constsntly cosy. The huge bedroom has stunning views and decorated exquisitely."

"When we arrived the owners came to great us. Very friendly, explained everything very well. Room was perfect with a lovely view. Bed comfortable, breakfast was amazing and great selection. Loved the fan on the wall. Only bad thing i would say is upgrade the pillows, uncomfortable, even with 2. Room was hot even with the fan on the wall. "

Short stay

"The hotel is very old and very quaint most of which is nice but could do with updating in most of the hotel. The room is nice with a fridge, microwave and kettle. Daily water bottles were left. The bathroom is really small but clean and tidy. Close to the main strip with shops, food stalls and entertainment and also close to the beach makes this hotel a good choice."

Great for Families

"Great place for families to stay after a day in Southwold. We stayed in one of the family rooms which was the best hotel room we have stayed in with our two children - plenty of space and we didn't feel on top of each other at all. Brilliant breakfast the next day, great choice and lovely FOH lady, who really looked after us and was kind to the children. She arranged for the some cooked items for my toddler then the chef came and asked what crockery would be best for him - we had our own plate which she kindly took and used. Overall brilliant service. We will be back again. "

"We really enjoyed our family break. The hotel was gorgeous, so clean and comfortable. We would definitely book to go here again. We really enjoyed all the facilities and a fabulous game of football golf, which was fun for all the family. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. "
