"Like a Downton Abbey experience. A grand palacios hotel. Although large, it felt warm, homely and welcoming. Upgraded to a suite which was just wonderful. So comfortable, spacious yet again a homely feel. Throughly enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We were able to secure our luggage and explore York ahead of checking in . They kindly kept our luggage safely after checking out also so again we could enjoy our ambling through the streets of York. Great choices for breakfast,.Pet friendly also. This is a beautiful hotel well worth the stay."

The room was nice and well-kept, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. No parking available when we arrived, but we were able to find a space in the public car park next to it after waiting for 10 mins for a space to free up."
