"We loved our stay at Ryokan Sansui. The view of the mountains around the hotel were amazing with tri-colored foliage. The staff were also very lovely and kind. The food was also delicious and more than I had expected. Communication wasn't too easy, but the message would get across. The best part was, of course, the onsen (hot spring) experience. "We had a really relaxing stay here. For the price we paid, the food and service were exceptional. There were two private onsens that can be reserved, each with its own charm. Additionally, there is a bus stop right next to the ryokan, making this a convenient base for exploring the region. Would highly recommend it!"

"We visited this hotel with our three kids this summer. The hotel and the experience was an incredible, authentic part of our trip to Japan. The owners and staff of the hotel were amazing! "This rustic ryokan was situated in the beautiful Japanese alps on the main road through the valley from Takayama. The staff provided authentic, beautiful & of course delicious Japanese breakfast and dinner. The accomadation was simple, spacious and spotless. The onset was rustic and could do with some renovation but it was charming. The ryokan was more than adequate for the price. The staff was adorable and very helpful. Definetively we would recommend it."

"We stayed in the family suite. The design was well thought out and the beds were comfortable. The location was across the street from a 7 Eleven which was super convenient. There is a ramen place next door. It is a close walk to the bus station and you can walk from the hotel into town. Overall it was a really pleasant stay for a family of 5."
