"This was the cheapest hotel available so that's why I gave it a try. The best part was the adequate, Japanese-styled breakfast buffet. Not a huge selection, but it filled me up and tasted good enough. It's a cheap hotel because it saves money on not remodeling: the lobby area looks fine, but paint was chipping badly over the hallway lights and the bathroom tiles looked like they were from 1994. It's far from the train station and river, but still surrounded by stores and some restaurants."

"Great location. Older style hotel and our initial room was very poor and we were moved to an excellent room because the air conditioning didn’t work in the first one. The second room had excellent beds, aircon and space. The staff service was impeccable, particularly Miss Watanabe as she helped us with many things like booking restaurants and finding a good Onsen. "From the bullet train gate at Niigata Station to the front desk took no longer than a three and a half minute walk through the station complex. Lots and lots of shops and places to eat on the way. All hotel staff very efficient and polite. Room not huge as expected but very good spec. Room wasn't facing the station plaza/ bus terminus so very peaceful. Best of all, the hotel restaurant. Buffet breakfast excellent and ¥1700 set dinner was one of the best and most beautifully presented meals I've ever had in Japan."
