"I stayed for three nights. The hotel is clean and well ventilated. I was lucky enough to have a large and quiet room. The owner is very friendly and doesn't bother guests. But the only regret is that the floor noise is loud. It will be noisy if you live next to the stairs. I would come again if given the chance."

They weren't just hospitable with their delicious cooking, but they help out with your itinerary to make sure you get the best out of your trip! With their warm welcomes, good cooking, and breathtaking views of Wakayama. This place is one of a kind that you must experience. Plus they tend to turkey, a rooster, and 50 goats! "

"If you're looking for a swank hotel, then this is not you're looking for. However, if you are looking for an excellent place to stay with gracious hosts and family, then this is a perfect spot in Tanabe. We stayed here on 10/24-25 to hike Kumano Kodo trail. Koushi and Chiyoko were extremely gracious hosts and treated us like family while we were there. They went "beyond the call of duty" to help us in finding a lost jacket left on the train and they made sure we were safe all along the way. ...

"Owner was great and super kind. He picked us up from the station. He gave us a tour of the building and also a review of the local area and recommendations for places to go. This place was awesome. The only minor issue i had was the room was fairly large and one of the AC units was broken. It was difficult to keep it cool even with the fan and other working unit on high. "

If hiking be aware the house is about 2km from the trail and you have to descend the amount you climbed to get back to the road- hike back up approx 45 minutes. "This was a cabin with dining and kitchen area on one side and a sleeping area with tatami mats and futons in the other. The kitchen has all you need to make a meall but we didn’t bring any food with us. We only stayed one night but would come back and stay. There is a toilet in the room and went to the public onsen to bathe. The chicken yakatori place down the road is a must. "
