"Lovely historic building in a private gated courtyard off high street shopping area. Despite the busy streets outside, our room was very quiet. Staff were always helpful. Because of it being a 1700s building, there is no lift so be prepared for a narrow winding staircase to access most rooms."

"The whole experience of coming to York and staying at the B and B from start to finish was excellent nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food was vey good. It was good to have a vegan cooked breakfast on the menu for my friend as we always seem to struggle when we stay in places. Would certainly come back and stay if we go to York again.."

"We stayed for 3 nights for a Christmas shopping trip, the hotel is in a perfect location very close to York Minster and with lovely bars and restaurants on the doorstep. We were met with a very warm welcome, our room was small but had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. I would highly recommend this lovely boutique Guest House"

"Slightly complicated check in process with nobody on site and having to call a mobile number. However, once I was in everything was very clear. My room was up 2 very steep sets of stairs. It was compact but clean, with a small ensuite. The shower pressure was very weak unfortunately, but otherwise the room was excellent value for money. "From checking in the staff were friendly and very polite. The breakfast was excellent, cooked fresh and to perfection with plenty of toast and coffee on tap. There was plenry of choice as well as a continental option. The room was excellent and the honesty bar is a great touch and not expensive for a late night treat or glass of wine. "

"This was such a relaxing, cozy stay. I am traveling with my 18 year old son, and this was a perfect place for us to each have our own space. The hospitality was excellent—the hosts thought of so many extras to make us comfortable. It’s a slight jaunt from the sights, but that also means it was a quiet place to stay, and the only thing that woke me up was morning bird song. I would recommend."
