"Lovely hotel in a great location. "

"I liked that it was close to the waterfront and great restaurants. We had issues with noise however. There are lots of signs around promoting being considerate of guests around being quiet. However our room although lovely it was 2 units away from the hotel's restaurant and bar area which was actually very noisy and impacted on our second night's stay. Wouldn't want to spend another Saturday night due to this."

The owner clearly spends time and effort on the grounds however, we were disappointed by the lack of privacy in our room, it being directly adjacent to the breakfast room with all the accompanying intrusive noise.We were warned the previous evening by the proprietor that this was likely altho we did not realise it would be quite so loud. "Beautiful old building converted into a 6 room hotel. Excellent views over Napier as it is at the top of a hill. Great breakfast. Very comfortable rooms. "

"Interesting historic place. Pleasant place to relax and a great base for exploring the Hawke's Bay. Spent 3 nights there, service is good and the staff very helpful. Stayed in the "William Nelson Suite" and we could relax on the verandah or in the grounds with its historic trees."
