Casavana occupies the 11th floor of an apartment building. My wife and I stayed for three nights in March 2025. The REALLY good things about this hotel: -The view. It's incredible. -The staff. They'll cheerfully arrange for just about anything you need - transportation, money changing, tourist activities. -The location. It's a 10 minute walk to the Malecon. There are 5-6 higher end restaurants along the Malecon, just a half mile walk from the hotel. If you want cheaper fare, Calle 23 (ie 23rd Street) is just a quarter mile or so away and has a ton of food options. That street is a great evening stroll - very lively and local. There's a restaurant just a block away (El Idilio) that's a fantastic bargain. It's a $5-10 taxi ride to Old Havana. -The breakfast. For $10 a person, they'll stuff you with tropical fruit, an omelet, toasted bread, and strong coffee. We treated this as brunch every day. -The bar. There's a bartender on duty each evening. The bartender introduced use to the canchanchara (honey, lime juice, unaged rum, and a bit of water). We closed each night sitting on the balcony and watching the world go by. -Pay the upcharge for the daily drink and the airport transport. Both entirely worth it. -The cost. This place is a BARGAIN. Overall, a great stay. There are some strange things about travelling to Cuba for we Americans. Feel free to message me if you want my answers to some of those questions.
