"Lovely hotel to stay in with or without your dog. A short walk to the beach and to the village of De Koog with shops and restaurants etc. The chef at breakfast was fantastic and was able to cater for our coeliac daughter - a big thank you to him! There was the option to eat breakfast and other meals in the cosy and bright bar / lounge area if you wanted to keep your dog with you, rather than eating in the restaurant. This was great for us because our rescue dog would have been very nervous staying in the hotel room alone, so otherwise we would have had to split our family in half to eat breakfast. It meant we could all be together to enjoy meals which was brilliant! We will definitely return - very nice hotel! "

"Great location in a very compact city. The hotel is in two repurposed historic buildings, a bank and a spectacular post office. Super-friendly and engaging staff. After more than 230 trips to Europe, I know quality hotels there, and the Post Plaza is in the top ranks. "

"Super convenient location across Leeuwarden train station. It is a small boutique style hotel. I loved the Nespresso machine and the daily capsules complimentary refill, also nice emptied mini-fridge for use and kettle. Room was large and very clean. My room had an outdoor terrace but the view are not nice as they overlook vents and tubes from the restaurant next door. Heating worked perfectly fine. "

"Large bedrooms and bathrooms are a plus. Not walkable to town but car psrk very safe and you can hire a bike from reception if youre fed up driving"

"Overall, a bit basic but it was an okay stay for one night in the winter. Mostly just the lack of transparency, as the hotel reception charged triple the amount of the 'additional fee' than what was listed on the Expedia site when booking. Otherwise fine for what you pay - thank you!"

"The place exceeded our expectations. Lawrence is a first class host. The place is really quirky and well worth the money. Leeuwarden is just a fantastic base in the north of the country and we made a visit to one of the Wadden Islands with a two hour ferry journey which was splendid. "
