Overall, a bit basic but it was an okay stay for one night in the winter. Mostly just the lack of transparency, as the hotel reception charged triple the amount of the 'additional fee' than what was listed on the Expedia site when booking. Otherwise fine for what you pay - thank you!

It's a beautiful place. The hotel is clean and the staff is helpful, smiling and attentive. We didn't have breakfast or eat at the restaurant but we saw people. Our terrace was on the roof side but we couldn't eat outside because of the cobwebs or something. On the sea side, the terraces seemed more accessible.

Very clean, although furnishings are sparse. Bed and linens not particularly comfortable, thin towels. Delightful service in restaurant and bar, reception very friendly and helpful.

On the sea in Makkum
Really liked many aspects of this hotel. I was there in the winter for a visit to one of the many yards that calls Makkum home. Restaurant and service was two highlights and the view from the room was great. Bed and bedding, not so much, the team would need to switch things up for me to sleep well with both feeling dated and bedding not fitting well to the bed.

We checked into our room and it was so barebones it was unbelievable. The room was dark, the bedding looked very worn, and there were no pictures on the walls. It was stripped bare of everything. It was so bad we left the hotel and went to Sneek and stayed at another hotel. When we left we told the person at the reception desk we were leaving, and why, and they acted as if they could care less that weren't satisfied with the room. We would really like Orbitz to consider a refund to us as the hotel would do nothing.

Great location. Disappointing accommodations.
Great location. Great restaurant. The hotel itself is just outdated and basic. Dirty floors, and walls. Beds are single and not double which isn't the best. Also, it's overpriced for what you get. We paid through this site and we're required to pay extra for breakfast and an extra bed (even though we booked for the extra person). We didn't want breakfast but they said we booked it and had to pay the extra cost for it.

Wij verbleven in de familiekamer, deze was eenvoudig, van alle gemakken voorzien maar wel iets gehorig. Prima voor de prijs/kwaliteit! Personeel was erg vriendelijk en het ontbijtbuffet uitgebreid.

Lage des Hotels am Strand ist super. Man kann auch kostenlos parken. AC Ladesäulen zu sehr hohen Preise. sind auch verfügbar. Wir hatten das Superior Zimmer 117 mit Meerblick. Es ist ein sehr geräumiges Zimmer mit extra Sitzeckw im Eingang des Zimmers. Es ist ebenfalls ein Balkon mit Meerblick vorhanden. Leider gibt es sehr wenige ablageflächen im Zimmer. Im Badezimmer gibt es kein Fenstwr und keine Heizung, was sehr kalt wurde,jetzt Anfang Januar mit knapp Null Grad. Im ganzen Zimmer gibt es nur einen Heizkörper, der Mühe hat den Raum zu erwärmen. Zudem zieht die Zwangsbelüftung die ganze Zeit die kalte Luft unter dee Zimmertür hindurch. Der Schreibtisch und das Badezimmer haben ihre besten Zeiten hinter sich und sollten erneuert werden. Das Personal war immer sehr freundlich. Zum Frühstück kann man sagen, dass ea sehe einfach gehalten ist und der Käse und die Aufstriche schon etwas länger da lagen, da aie sich geqölbt haben und schon trocken wurden. Wir waren zum Beginn der Frühstückszeit am Buffet. Nach drei Tagen wirde ea für uns schon etwas schwer die Abwechslung beim Frühstück zu finden. Alles in allem ist die Unterkunft für ein Wochenendtripp gut geeignet.
