"The place looks a bit drab from the outside but inside we had a warm welcome from Mary and Lynn and very much enjoyed the cosy bar and restaurant. The rooms were comfortable and warm, the latter an important consideration given that we were hiking and getting wet! "

"Delightful Tudor pub with 7 bedrooms in a quiet village. Tis was a perfect stopover and we particularly enjoyed the breakfast in the main pub area in the morning. Will definitely come back and recommend."

"Nice Inn reached by narrow lanes. Care needed! Good good and drink. Breakfast from 0830 onwards was very tasty and of good quality. Would revisit. Too far to reach Exeter for an 0900 meeting... So if Woking book you meeting a bit later as it is worth the extra drive to this place "

"This was an unscheduled stop on route to Cornwall due to bad weather. What a pleasant surprise, a beautiful old Inn a short distance from the A30. The staff were friendly and helpful, great service a lovely evening meal and an excellent breakfast. We will definitely be returning with hopefully better weather."

"If you are looking to stay in a traditional English Pub, this is the place. Cozy rooms with great washroom facilities. Very clean and comfortable beds. Rooms are equipped with electricity outlets, wifi and tv for those needing it. The pub itself is fantastic with a very well stocked bar. "A lovely place to stay. From the minute we walked in wa we was made to feel welcome. The room was very clean and had a very comfortable king-size bed a a fabulous walkin shower. The food was amazing and the home made crumpets are out of this world. "

"Very enjoyable stay however bar service let the rest of the stay down; it took half an hour to get served a glass of wine due to happy hour and not enough bar staff. "

"We had an excellent stay here. Beautiful property with plenty of space for a group of 8 of us. Including children between the ages of 1 and 5 years old. We made use of the swimming facilities on site. Mary is a lovely host. Who answered all of our questions promptly . I would not hesistate to stay here again "
