Gym was simple but effective and indoor spa had small heated dip pool, sauna and steam room along with 4 types of shower! Outdoor rooftop waterfall pool was larger with plenty of chairs and areas to relax in the sunshine. "

"Had a lovely stay as a couple at Dom Jose. The hotel is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. We had a standard room which was quite small but sufficient. Breakfast was very nice. The restaurant over looks the promenade and sea which is a lovely setting to enjoy breakfast in. There is a lovely terrace where you can sit and enjoy a drink and take in the lovely views or watch the sunset. The location of the hotel is excellent as it is surrounded by restaurants, bars and shops and just a stones throw from the beach. I would definitely return to this hotel and would highly recommend it to friends. "

"Absolutely lovely stay. Marina view rooms are beautiful. Staff are so friendly, breakfast is incredible with so much choice of hot and cold, bed is maybe a little harder than Ilike but that's life. "

"The hotel and staff were quite lovely during our stay. Unfortunately, we went during the low season and I definitely do not recommend doing that. There wasn't much to do in the surrounding area but that isn't really the hotel's fault. The one thing I will say that was not satisfactory at the property was the breakfast. For £35, I expected at least a little bit better of an offering from the buffet. Everything was quite stale and not many options. We elected to purchase the avocado toast which seemed more like an avocado spread than actual avocados (Avocados seem difficult to get in this region of the world as I have not had great luck in Europe in general finding fresh avocados like you can in the US). Other than that, I highly recommend the property as the rooms were extremely clean, very large, and the design is quite cool. It looks much better in person than it does in photos for some reason. Also, the staff was so friendly as you come to expect when visiting Portugal, it's just a totally different vibe from the people in the US and other parts of Europe. "
