"We began our trip to Sri Lanka at Taavetti, and it was the perfect choice. The hotel arranged an airport pickup for us, making the two-hour drive smooth and scenic. Galle was an excellent starting point, and Taavetti proved to be the ideal place to stay. Getting to the fort was easy with a quick Tuk Tuk ride, and the beach across the street was simply spectacular. The hotel itself was fabulous, with an incredible staff who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. A huge thank you to Ambiga, Gayantha, Raja, Nethmi, Roshan, Banuka, Hasitha, and Waruni—you all made our stay truly special! I wish we had stayed an extra night. The room was beautiful, the breakfast was fantastic, and the hotel even helped us arrange transportation to Mirissa the next day. A wonderful start to our Sri Lankan adventure! "

The staff were lovely, the hotel and room were beyond my expectations from the pictures and the area in Galle Fort was so wonderful and walkable. This was a great place to do some day excursions from as well, we went to both Mirissa for whale watching, and Hikaduwa for a beach day."

"The Fort House is an amazing 17c building sympathetically renovated and centrally locatedwithin the fort . The staff were lovely and always attentive. For the first time during our trip we had traditional Sri Lankan breakfasts . Interesting, educational and tasty. The room was comfortable with a four poster bed and an ensuite bathroom. We highly recommend The Fort House."

"I've just returned from a two night stay at the Bartizan and it was nothing short of splendid! The only downside was that stay was too short. My room was stunning and incredibly spacious. It had a very comfortable bed, cold AC, a beautiful balcony with dining table and comfortable chairs to sit and watch the sea. Breakfast could be delivered to the room or you could dine in the private courtyard downstairs. You choose daily from several options/styles. The two I tried were both delicious and quite a big meal. The hotel has been beautifully renovated and the staff were exceedingly kind, friendly and accommodating. They really went out of their way to help me have a wonderful stay and really contributed to my experience visiting Southern Sri Lanka. It is a boutique hotel, privately owned and in a historic building, so if this isn't your thing and you are looking for something more bland and more like a big standardized US chain then this might not be for you, but if you are drawn to Galle because of the history, the beauty of the architecture and the sea then I highly recommend. "

"Excellent/wonderful. Beautiful facility/setting and the staff are wonderful. The breakfast was the best I had in all of Sri Lanka. The dinner choices were wide ranging an excellent. The bed was very comfortable. Excellent water pressure with plenty of hot water. About a 10 minute Tuk Tuk ride to the Fort. Highly recommend. "

"This property was centrally located to access the wonders of Galle Fort, but set in a quiet lane away from the main foot traffic. The Courtyard and entry to the property burst with colour and wonderful scents. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The breakfast options were the best we came across in Sri Lanka. The rooms were clean but moderate in size with limited space for large luggage."
