"Really lovely apartment just outside the city walls. Spotlessly clean, really comfortable and with everything you need for a great stay. Little extras including, sourdough bread, butter, preserves, milk, coffee, tea, orange juice, cereals, chocolate , wine and a treat from Betty's all made it feel really special and that you are very welcome. Communication before arrival was great, as was check in when we were helped with our bags down the steps and shown around. Anita (our host) was on holiday...

"Last minute booking as decided to stay overnight in York. Communication for check in was quick, property was easy to find, close to town and super clean and tidy. Had a relaxing stay and would definitely consider again next time we were in York. Small supermarket and Mrs Greedy’s at end of road was excellent for supplies and a quick cooked breakfast. "

The location was fab for easy access to the city on foot (we parked the car outside the house and didn't use it again until the drive home!), and the parking permit made it all very easy. "Positives: The house was large with nice grounds. There was a nice walk to the local pub. The bedrooms overall were nice. Technical issues: • The hot tub kept tripping the fuseboard. So we missed out on the tub on the Friday night. • A few more dishwashing tablets would have been helpful, as would bin bags • The outside staircase up to the building had large spaces between the bars, which is dangerous for small kids. We suggest a simple wire in the middle of these to ensure kids don’t fall...

"Such a historic venue, so peaceful if a bit remote. 5-10 minutes to get to the main road. Easy to find though, postcode satnav takes you right to the property with well signed directions when there. The property and grounds were immaculate, added bonus of an outside plug at parking to trickle charge an electric vehicle. "

"We had a lovely stay for four days here. The apartment had enough space for us to spread out, and having an outdoor space and a washer/dryer was welcome. It got a bit hot one day where the bedrooms were; I would recommend a fan in each room and sun blocking curtains for warmer summer weather. The street was mostly quiet except for one night that got a bit rowdy (nothing too bad). We particularly appreciated the amenities, the books on York/Yorkshire, and the Agatha Christies! "Constant, very loud, drunken stupidity made for a pretty sleepless night. Opposite 24 hour McDonald's. Really strong room fragrance in the kitchen was really off-putting and made me wonder what smells they were trying to conceal. Window sills not clean."
